These are the original drawings for my logo. I decided to go with the company name based on feed back from the class. The concept I was going for was something that clearly told the consumer that the company sold popcorn, but I wanted it to have a little bit of celebrity glamour since the theme is paparazzi.

This project was my favorite of the semester, not just because it means class is over. I loved doing the layout and creating the backgrounds and other personal touches that make it represent me. I chose bright colors, and quotes that I feel represent who I am as a person. Overall I learned a lot in this course and plan on using my new skills to create more digital art.

The Woods
I used gradients, filter effects and the masking tool to create this collage. I cut out all the trees and layered them using different effects to create a spooky feel. I created the moon using the ellipsis tool, blue and emboss effect.

Photoshop practice: Kyle goes to the desert
I used the lasso tool, quick mask, and curves to cut out and blend my dog into a desert background. Additionally, I selected a boarder around him and added s slight Gaussian blur around him to not make the cut out so harsh. Lastly, I painted in small shadows around his paws.

The Good and the Bad of Logos
This logo is simple, but has just enough
texture so that it doesn’t look flat. I like that the orange could be used by
its self, without the wording, and still be easily recognizable. The use of the
complimentary colors, purple and yellow/orange make the logo easy on the
viewer’s eyes. Its also a cute idea how they turned the orange into a pencil
tip, incorporating the branding of the company and demonstrating its creativity.
This logo is just painful for me to look at. I
understand the concept but personally it’s too much for my eyes to handle. This
logo could also be very difficult to print on small surfaces or other colors,
making the labeling difficult for the company.
This logo has identity confusion. It says
nothing about what this company is. Is it a pilot’s origination that plays
baseball on a flying sailboat? The wings could make sense for some for of pilot
or flying company or organization, but wheel and baseball make no sense. As the
viewer, I cant tell what this logo is for or how all the elements are supposed
to work together.

5 Product/Company Logo Ideas
1.
Pig-in-out BBQ – Barbeque food truck run by a
retired police officer where the logo is a play on pigs in a blanket, done
tastefully. Possibly a pig wearing a police uniform.
2.
The Roots of life – Yoga/Organic living company.
The logo will be script words acting as the tree roots leading up into a
colorful tree silhouette.
3. Pop-O-Ratzi – Popcorn/candy Company with a theme
of glitz and glamour. The logo could be a glamorous looking popcorn bucket with
camera flashes reflecting off of it.
4. Your-in-Business – Port-o-potty company. The logo could be a urinal cake wearing a suit and holding a brief case.
5.
3 Drunk Dogs - Hot dog stand that serves late nigh munchies,
specializing in hot dogs with strange toppings. The logo will resemble the
Three Stooges but with caricature of drunk hot dogs.

Everyone needs a MVP
My name is Melissa Paradise and I am a dysfunctional veteran just trying to make it back in the real world. I am currently not working, just focusing on my education at an accelerated pace, and rediscovering who I am and what I love. There's nothing more important to me than surrounding myself with good people to have great times with. I spent a long time being told exactly what to do and how to do it and I'm looking forwards to having some creative freedom. I have some experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, and DreamWeaver, but am excited to get my creative juices flowing again and see what new tricks and skills I can learn. Life is just an adventure waiting to happen, and I don't intend to miss out.
